Alan Donelly Real Estate

Alan Donelly has lived in Claremont for some 16 years. He is a licensed Real Estate, Business agent and well know auctioneer with some 40 years experience.

He owned and operated his first real estate business in the Albury/Wodonga area for 3 years before selling and moving to Perth to join John Blackburne & Co as a partner/shareholder in 1969

Alan set up his own real estate business in 1974 in Broadway Nedlands and later at Napoleon Street, Cottesloe. Working with his father Len they built the business rapidly with 8 sales staff in Napoleon Street after buying the former Woolworths building in Napoleon Street. At the same time he set up his auction house in the same building specialising in antiques. A joint venture with another developing company followed and together they built “Napoleon Close” –the largest and most complex development in Napoleon Street, Cottesloe.

He has become one of the most experienced and versatile auctioneers in Australia conducting auctions at a local, national and international level conducting auctions in Perth, Melbourne, Sydney, Adelaide and over 45 auctions in Singapore.

Alan founded the Auctioneers & Valuers Association of WA in 1974 and is a Life Member. Alan’s son, Mathew, who is now currently the President of the Association, took aver Alan Donelly & Co in 2004 and also owns and manages Garside & Webb Auctioneers, leaving Alan to concentrate on his real estate interests and assisting their other two companies when required.

Today Alan Donelly & Co conducts some 95% of the major ‘on site’ house auctions throughout the State.

Well known for his involvement with various charities as their honorary auctioneer, Alan has had a 20 year association with Rocky Bay Village where he was a board member and became Vice President.

Hobbies include deep sea fishing with his son other members of the family and doting Grandad to 6 adorable healthy children.

Working currently as a business broker he currently he acts as a buyer’s agent and advisor to clients on all aspects of their investments –property, business broking and /or antiques.

Alan recently sold the Swanbourne Newsagency – business and freehold- in Claremont Cres. without advertising. His most recent sale was the freehold and very popular business known as Eziway Foodstores supermarket in Claremont Cresent for a record price for a Swanbourne commercial site, which he had sold previously to the vendor some 13 years ago. He is a member of the Business Brokers Association of WA and a member of Reiwa.
